Getting Started with BizPilot

Updated May 2026·5 minute read

BizPilot puts a 20-year veteran in your trade in your pocket — available the moment you need it. This guide walks you from signing up to your first real conversation.

1. Create your account

  1. 1Go to getbizpilot.ai and click "Start free — no card required."
  2. 2Pick your trade — roofing, HVAC, plumbing, restoration, public adjuster, or PI attorney. Your AI expert is built around the trade you choose.
  3. 3Enter your email and create a password, or sign in with Google.
  4. 4You'll receive a confirmation email — click the link to verify your account.
  5. 5You're in. The free plan starts immediately, no credit card needed.
The free plan gives you 25 messages per month and access to one trade (the one you picked at signup). You can switch trades once within your first 7 days; after that, Pro unlocks all six trades plus unlimited messages and the full suite.

2. Set up your Business Context

Business context is what transforms BizPilot from a generic AI into your specific AI. It knows your company name, your primary carriers, your average job size, and how you like to approach supplements.

  1. 1Click the gear icon (⚙️) in the sidebar or navigate to Settings → Business Context.
  2. 2Fill in your company name, state, and years in business.
  3. 3Add your 3 most common carriers. This affects how BizPilot frames adjuster strategies.
  4. 4Set your average job size and common scope types (residential, commercial, storm, etc).
  5. 5Save. Every conversation you start from now on uses this context.

3. Your first conversation

In the left sidebar, click New conversationunder your trade. You'll see a chat interface. Start with something specific. Roofing example:

“I have a State Farm claim on a 2,400 sq ft hip roof. They're denying step flashing. I need a supplement letter with code citations.”

BizPilot will respond with specific language, Xactimate line items, and IRC code references — not a generic template.

4. Using Quick Tasks

The sidebar shows Quick Tasks — pre-configured prompts for the most common needs:

  • Write supplement letter
  • Draft adjuster response
  • Explain ACV vs RCV
  • Generate scope checklist
  • Line item dispute script

Click any task to start a conversation pre-loaded with the right context.

5. Switching trades

Free users have one trade — the one you picked at signup. You can change it once within your first 7 days from Settings → Verticals. Pro and Pro Plus users have access to all six trades and can switch anytime — click your profession badge in the sidebar. Conversation history is per-trade, so your roofing conversations stay separate from HVAC.
