Setting Up Your Business Context

Updated May 2026·4 minute read

Business context is what transforms BizPilot from a generic AI into your AI. Without it, responses are knowledgeable but generic. With it, every answer reflects your company, your carriers, and your typical jobs.

Why it matters

Here's the difference. Same question — two different responses:

Without context

"Step flashing requirements vary by jurisdiction. Per IRC R905.2.8.3, step flashing must be installed at the junction of the roof and vertical surfaces. When supplementing, reference the manufacturer's installation instructions and local code amendments."

With your context

"For your State Farm claims in Texas, step flashing is approved in 67% of initial supplements (network data). Lead with IRC R905.2.8.3 and include your photo documentation. Given that Adams Roofing is averaging $4,200 on step flashing supplements in your area, a $3,800 request is well-supported."

How to find it

  1. 1Click the gear icon (⚙️) in the sidebar — or go to Settings → Business Context.
  2. 2You'll see a form with fields specific to your vertical (roofing, HVAC, etc.).
  3. 3Fill in as much as you can. More detail = better AI responses.
  4. 4Save. The context is applied to every conversation you start from now on.

Updating context when your business changes

Business context isn't cached — it's applied fresh to every conversation. This means any updates you make take effect immediately on your next conversation.

Update it when: you add a new state, change your primary carrier mix, or your typical job size shifts significantly.
